November 2006 Blu-Ray
is now out in the UK. Samsung and Panasonic launch their players
DMP-BD10.
Interestingly some of the titles launched in the USA (Region A) play fine in
the (UK Region B) players.
We tested Lord or War and The Fifth Element. (The Panasonic machine can also
be made multi region for DVD's)
We also took one of the BD10's apart and tried the drive in a PC and it
appears to be a Panasonic SW-5582 Blu Ray Burner although it's firmware
doesn't seem to allow you to write anything to a BD-RE blank disc.
